Breaking Out of the Gym & into the Great Outdoors with Kettlebell Exercises

Breaking Out of the Gym & into the Great Outdoors with Kettlebell Exercises

by Greg Diener

I like going to the gym and I don't mind stepping onto a treadmill or going to my fitness center to take a kettlebell class. However, I know dozens of people who cannot stand the idea of being trapped in a gym. A few of my friends prefer the great outdoors and to get fresh air while they work out. Still, some people aren't sure how to get the most out of an outdoor workout. For those who want to break out of the gym but don't know how to do it, these are the reasons I recommend kettlebell exercises.

1. Portable: Kettlebells are weights with handles affixed to them to be used when they are lifted. They are easy to carry around because of their shape and size. Kettlebells can be used to work out in your yard, park, or on a camping trip without any trouble. Due to the fact that kettlebell exercises give you both a cardio workout and resistance training, it's equivalent to carrying a lot of bulky equipment in a much smaller package.

2. Simple: Kettlebell exercises are not hard to do. The movements incorporated in the workout mimic everyday motions that we're already familiar with. As long as a user knows the basic techniques and correct form, the workout can be performed anywhere. Additionally, just because these exercises are straightforward doesn't mean that they aren't effective. Working out with these special weights wherever you are will keep you in shape and feeling accomplished without burning you out.

3. Fun: The best aspect of the kettlebell is how much fun it is. The dynamic motions and unique routines mean that you'll never find yourself bored. Because the equipment is fun to use, you won't mind bringing the weights along with you when you're on your way out the door. Since the workout isn't dull, it's a great choice to make sure that you always get a varied workout but don't have to constantly be dragging around an excessive amount of training equipment. If you love the excitement of exploring the great outdoors, you may just love the excitement of exploring everything the regimen can do for you.

For those of you who don't enjoy working out at the gym but want to commit yourself to an innovative fitness routine, consider picking up a kettlebell. The weight itself makes the equipment an ideal choice to bring around. The easy to grasp routines will allow you to feel like working out on your own is never a chore while still getting an effective workout. And most importantly, the exciting and dynamic routines will get you eager to step out and start swinging one of these unique weights. Remember that fitness isn't limited to fitness centers and that you can get your workout done in your yard, at the park, or on a camping trip as long as you're comfortable doing so.
