Making Your Paleo Shopping List

The Paleo weight loss diet program is also known as the caveman diet. The basis of your paleo weight loss program is to turn back the clock and imitate the diet plan of your ancestors. Taking on the paleo way of living can feel pretty challenging at times; especially when you when you look through the grocery store aisles, the foods your formerly prefer are now restricted (You already know French fries, pasta, whole grains). As a substitute, pick up some coconut milk.

Anything pre-packaged or highly processed should be avoided, which is a good rule of thumb. Food products for example pretzels, French fries or packed cupcakes would belong to this class. Dairy should not be consumed by paleo dieters as well. Cheese, milk and yogurt frozen goodies and in essence everything else that drops into the dairy food group should be taken out of your diet. Protein is highly encouraged on the paleo diet, and most sources of protein are paleo friendly. Highly processed or low grade meats should be avoided, otherwise, enjoy your pick of juicy grub, from poultry to turkey to bacon.

Having proteins is recommended on the paleo diet plan, and many of the foods for proteins are paleo safe. Very refined or lower class lean meats should be avoided, or else, just get used to enjoying your pick of succulent grub, from chicken to poultry to sausage. Indeed, bacon is a paleo sanctioned meal; however, like most paleo foods, take pleasure in meats like sausage without excess. Just select a few different meat selections to include in your paleo shopping list.

Eggs are an outstanding supply of protein along with omega-3 essential fatty acids; which should be a staple to be included on any paleo grocery list. Eggs are versatile and inexpensive, ideal for making a multitude of paleo recipes. Any seafood forms the basics from a paleo diet regime. If you are looking for convenience, pick up canned salmon or tuna; however, make sure that it is packed in water and not oil.

Coconut oil is the perfect ingredient for cooking in skillets or other recipes involving high temperatures. Coconut oil also adds a nice hint of coconut flavor to your dishes; especially lovely for meals such as stir frys. Olive oil is also allowed on the paleo diet. Vegetable oils should be avoided. Some paleo dieters will still consume butter, however, it is not officially part of the paleo diet. If you can't live without butter, opt for a grass fed variety.

Even paleo dieters must have snacks every again and now. Nuts make an outstanding paleo snack choice. Full of unsaturated fatty acids, nearly all nut products are a wonderful option. Remember, even so, nuts are a legume, instead of a nut. All beans are off the dinner table within the paleo menus, consequently include peanuts with your nut alternatives.

All grains and highly processed sugars are generally not allowed in a paleo diet. This includes fundamentally any bread, flour product; pasta, rice and bagels or similar products are all off limits. You should also avoid sugary beverages including fruit juices and sodas, unless of course you are have homemade fruit juice,

Fruit and Vegetables

Likewise, although fruit is a healthy choice and can make an excellent snack, stick to 1-3 servings a day. Even though normal, fresh fruits are rich in sugars.

Before leaving the grocery store, make sure to stock up on spices. Unfortunately, most commercially made condiments will not be paleo harmless. This is a great opportunity to invest in a small blender or food processor and start getting creative in the kitchen with your own dips, toppings and spices. You can develop your own personal delicious paleo concoctions to provide flavour to every one of your own paleo food.

Plan what you are doing a few days beforehand, that's each meal you will be having, to ensure that you will create your Paleo Grocery List for your week ahead, so you only have to go to the store once.
