Fat loss will never be a walk in the park. It requires dedication and a deep desire to change. Nevertheless, if you control caloric intake and keep your metabolism burning you will get in shape.

Unfortunately, there are very common mistakes people make consistently when trying to change.

So here are some common mistakes people make when trying to get in shape:

1. Not eating enough fat: Your body needs fat to produce fat burning hormones. Specifically, it uses fat to produce testosterone. A hormone that burns fat and builds muscle. Recall that muscle will maintain your metabolism.

2. Letting cardio interfere with resistance training: Resistance training is the best modality for changing the way your body looks. It's also the best modality for increasing the amount of calories you burn. So don't let cardio interfere with your resistance training.

3. Not getting enough rest: You need to get adequate rest in between your intense training sessions or your body will break down and not recovery properly. So make sure you rest enough until your body is completely recuperated.

4. Blocking out carbs: Blocking out carbs is not a good way to get in shape. Any high performing body needs lots of carbs to get in great shape. Take out carbs and you will strip right through the lean tissue your body has.

5. Having too many meal replacements: You need to go easy with the meal replacements. After all, a packet of powder will never to be able to rival a meal in its nutritional entirety. So make sure you focus on whole food here for the best results.

6. Focusing too much on total body workouts: Although efficient, you don't have to stick with total body workouts only for the best results here. You can do body part splits. Just make sure you try to activate as much muscle mass as possible while not sacrificing intensity.

People trying to lose fat usually make the same mistakes over and over again. So take heed of the advice here and be ahead of the curve!
