For a relatively long period of time, yoga has become very popular to people. Most commonly women who are constantly in the need of getting rid of fats that have accumulated in their bodies. It was developed in India a couple of years back. As an art has also become a common form of exercising in the United States and the entire world in general. For example in Houston, Houston yoga awareness initiatives have led to an increase in the number of people who exercise it.

Its advantages to people are almost limitless. They can be either physical or health benefits. Firstly, it improves an individual body flexibility. This is because it enables one to stretch their muscles more frequently. This has the effect of making ones body and muscles flexible. Good muscle flexibility is attributed to an increased muscle strength.

Secondly, it is believed to improve a persons general performance in athletics and in other sporting activities. This can be attributed to the fact that ones muscles becomes more strong and flexible due to continued exercises. Sportsmen practicing it outside the pitch are considered to be the best.

The art has also been linked to improving the health of a persons cardio and blood health. This is because blood is frequently pumped in to the heart when exercising. Most heart failures have always been linked to lack of enough blood in the heart leading to heart failure. Therefore it is evident that people practicing this art are less prone to heart problems unlike those people who do not practice.

Yoga is also associated with improving a person metabolism. Metabolism is the process whereby food materials are digested into the body and thereafter transported to different body cells. For food to be digested and later on transported to different body cells, energy is required and therefore people who practice it have better metabolisms since they have more energy.

The art is important in the management of stress. Stress in a person can manifest itself in many ways. A stressful person always has low and high moments. He/she reacts very negatively to positive situations around him/her and is always very short tempered. Stress is also associated with back or neck pains, problems with falling asleep, frequent headaches and low concentration abilities. Most victims of stress that have problems dealing with it end up becoming drug abusers. Thanks to it, people can now efficiently deal with stress.

Moving on swiftly, it improves an individuals brain capabilities and well-being. The brain needs sufficient supply of oxygen in order to function properly. It is believed that most brain complications are associated with insufficient oxygen circulation in the brain. People who practice it have a good oxygen supply in their brains and therefore very unlikely to have mental problems, unlike those people that do not exercise the art.

Health experts have defined it as a mechanism that unites an individuals mind to his or her body and the spirit at large. It also improves a person meditation to real life situations. Most of the people who practice yoga are associated with leading better lives compared to those that do not practice it. This is because it improves their body flexibility, protection from injury and also improving on their stress management.
