Yoga Retreats Around The World

Yoga Retreats Around The World

by Jack Wogan

Yogis have to take various factors into consideration when planning their vacation on a yoga retreat. The best way to do it is to think about your financial possibilities and the yoga type you would like to practice during your stay. This way, you will be able to find the ashram that is right for you and you will be able to completely relax practicing your favorite Hindu poses.

America is open to new sports, so there are many gym classes and fitness clubs across the country where gurus teach people to exercise Hindu poses. I usually choose to go to yoga lessons in downtown city because they are accessible and I don't have to drive long distances to relax after a hard day at work. You should choose this option, too, if you are a busy person who can't afford to take vacations very often.

Once in a while, I like to take my family to a yoga retreat outside the city because these places are very relaxing and safe for children. There are many such locations in US, but I generally prefer to go somewhere near the beach or the mountains because I can practice the Hindu poses while my children play outdoors. In addition, being so close to nature enables me to get all the stress and toxins out of my system, so I feel truly revived when I come back home.

Although I haven't reached that level of training when I can teach others how to exercise yoga postures, I would very much like to travel to one of the exotic locations where yoga first started and to become a guru. I haven't decided, yet, where I would like to get trained, but I heard the ashrams in India, Peru and Indonesia are the best because they help yogis better understand Hinduism.

If you prefer to practice yoga as an alternative to other sweatier sports, it is better to opt for a spa retreat which incorporates yoga lessons, as well. This way, you will lose weight and invigorate your look with facial and skin treatments in countries like Italy, Austria, Hawaii and Bali.

For your next winter vacation, you should take your family and friends to a yoga retreat. You will have a lot of fun thanks to the entertaining programs provided by the ashram staff and you will be completely relaxed for the arrival of the New Year.
