Activities That Make Exercise Fun

Activities That Make Exercise Fun

by Kamryn Mattson

While running on a treadmill or taking aerobics classes can be rewarding in terms of the physical result, these activities certainly can get old after a while. If your workout seems a bit blah, spice up the old exercise routine with something new and exciting. Here are a few fun ideas.

If you don't think dancing is good exercise, watch a half hour of that TV show where stars learn how to dance. All of them lose weight and fairly quickly, because dancing is hard work. On the other hand, it is also really fun and there are tons of options. You can tackle ballroom dance or perhaps even the mysterious mix of martial arts and dance that is Capoeira.

For those who live by the ocean, a large river or lake, there are tons of fun options that burn calories. Take up paddle boarding, kayaking or join a rowing club. All of these activities get you out in the fresh air and will keep you in good shape. You can attend classes for all of these activities, and all you really need to know how to do is swim. Another idea is to take surfing lessons. Americans tend to have a singular view of surfing, but people all over the world love this sport, which you can enjoy for many years and what could be better than a day at the beach?

Forget about what everyone else is doing and think about what you wanted to do as a child and go there. Take up ice skating or the cheaper version, inline skating. Learn how to fly like an aerialist on the trapeze (yes there are classes for adults) or join a boot camp club and train like a Marine. Join a hiking club and train for a multi-day hike or pick something silly, but fun, like joining a dodge ball league. These exist, I swear.

If you do suffer from a muscle pain or a muscle ache, consider opting away from complicate tapes or braces, as these limit movement. A kinetic performance system might your best bet. These systems feature a design that protects the sore area by seizing strength from muscles that are nearby.

RapidForce-KPS has created several different kinds of systems, and all of them are simple to apply. The systems will stay in place, even during vigorous exercise, using a medical-grade, hypoallergenic adhesive. There are systems for the upper and lower back, the inner or outer elbows, the knee and the shoulder.
