Staying Positive When Losing Arm Fat

So many women focus on finding the perfect arm workout, the perfect supplement or the perfect diet. And many times, said women actually burn out before even getting started because they are trying to find that perfect solution.

Unfortunately, perfection, by definition does not exist. And let's suppose for a second that the perfect program did in fact exist. Do you have the willpower to stick with it week in and week out, month in and month out?

I would bet money that many women wouldn't be able to. Why? Because staying motivated for long periods of time (sticking with it) is NOT easy. Especially, if you have no mental game plan in place.

How do you stay motivated ad infinitum? We are very complex creatures psychologically speaking, and answering this question within the space of a single article is impossible. However, I do have 4 rapid fire tips for staying motivated if you're trying to lose arm fat:

1. Motivate yourself with a carrot, not a whip. How many times do you tell yourself, "I have to work out today", "I should be eating a healthy meal", or "I must be strict." Use this type of internal verbiage, and your motivation will erode. Instead, tell yourself that you WANT to do it. Visualize the positive outcomes of your behavior.

2. Use a scientific attitude when you fail. What's the first thing you do when you mess up? You get emotional! Even worse, some women internalize the situation and put all the blame on themselves. The end result? A sense of low self efficacy and reduced willpower to move forward. If you mess up, analyze the situation, the EXTERNAL factors that led to the malfunction. Never label or blame yourself.

3. Understand that motivation isn't instantaneous. Nobody has oodles and oodles of motivation on demand. Many times, even the most successful people have to start moving regardless of how they feel in order to get motivated. If you feel like doing nothing one day, and this will happen, simply start going through the motions!

4. Never let criticism get you angry. There are extremely critical people in this world that have no issue with vocalizing their every thought. Do not let said critics destroy your flabby arm resolve. Instead, deconstruct the criticism and define every element in it. Once you define the elements, most criticisms are found to be baseless.

Learning how to optimize your thought processes takes time. It doesn't happen overnight, and there will be times when these strategies don't work. But you can never give up. In the worst case scenario, try to minimize the damage and get right back on track to losing that arm fat!
